UK Illegal Immigrants ‘May Get Amnesty To Stay’ – Sky News

Thousands of illegal immigrants could be granted an amnesty to stay in the UK to clear a massive backlog of cases, MPs fear.

The number of outstanding immigration and asylum cases rose by 25,000 in three months and is "spiralling out of control".

The Border Agency (UKBA) caseload is now equivalent to the population of Iceland, said Keith Vaz, chairman of the Commons Home Affairs Committee.

More than 300,000 cases needed to be dealt with at the end of June, up 9% over the previous three months, a committee report indicated.

The Border Agency had 302,064 cases to investigate, trace or conclude by the end of June - more than 25,000 compared with the end of March, figures showed.

Most of the increase came from a rise of more than 24,000 missing migrants denied permission to stay in the UK but whose whereabouts are unknown.

The outstanding cases also included 95,000 in the so-called controlled archives.

Immigration minister Mark Harper agrees the report 'raises concerns'
These are effectively the backlog of immigration and asylum cases, which the UKBA has pledged to close by the end of the year.

But to do this it will have to assess all these cases in three months when only 29,000 were removed from the archive in a year, the report said.

"We are concerned that the closure of the controlled archives may result in a significant number of people being granted effective amnesty in the United Kingdom, irrespective of the merits of their case," the MPs said.

While many of the people in the backlog of cases will have already left the country, "we are not convinced that the agency's limited checking regime will have picked up all of the applicants who remain in the country", the MPs went on.

"For this reason we are concerned that the final checks made on these cases should be thorough and that they should not be rushed to meet an artificial deadline."

The report also questioned the consequences for both the individual and the taxpayer if applicants whose cases are closed are then found in the UK.

Mr Vaz added: "There are now about the same number of cases awaiting resolution by UKBA as there are people living in Iceland. The backlog is spiralling out of control."

Immigration Minister Mark Harper said: "This report raises some legitimate concerns but we are taking robust action and it is working."

Think Before You Send Your Kids Abroad

I came to UK in the 80s, went to Skinners school for girls in Stamford hill where I failed woefully. I come from a family that going abroad was like going to the market for us. I lived with my sister-in-law who I happened to have appeared to as a burden at the time. I had no one to take me out as a child, didn't enjoy McDonalds's treats, remember been bought KFC once by my mother's younger sister who was in UK at the time. Most days I had to walk from Pembury estate, Hackney to Stamford hill because I had no transport fee. An uncle got me free school meals from the government so I always had lunch at school but other meals hhhhmmm not guaranteed....

No one ever asked me how I was doing in school even thou I was a failure, never disclosed my report sheet because my results were always 'U- Unclassified' worse than F9. I lived at the expense of few of my brother's friends who were ready to give me £5 in exchange of me seating on their laps whilst they used my unmentionables as a toy. On few occasions my immediate families would give me £5, £10 but NONE EVER TOOK ME ON AS HIS OR HER RESPONSIBILITY. One glorious day, a brother of mine took me on when he noticed that I have been associating with friends that were smoking and sexing at the age of 12,13.14,15 but due to malicious beating everyday I had no choice other than to run away from his house. ....

I became streetwise, smoking heavily at the age of 11/12, did my first abortion at the age of 14/15. I was unable to contact my mother because I had no access to telephone moreover i didn't know how to use the phones then. I lived with a Jamaican friend who was few years older than me and we had a man friend aged 50t whom was impotent but would pay our rent whenever we allowed him to lick/suck us. Hhhhmmmm I'm sobbing as I'm writing this; I don't know why my spirit has led me to share this horrific and pathetic story on www but I am sure it is to bless someone outthere so I am not ashamed of letting it out because someone outthere will think twice before making the mistake my family made.

Myself and friends began to find it easy to be befriending men for money at night clubs (Golivers, Petter Stringfellows etc) at that very young age in which I found disgusting but was never slept with but they molested my body orally. I can't even carry on expressing my bitter past experiences because I have learnt to see them as my strengths that made me who I am today....

The koko of this post is this.... Now in UK we see Nigerian children killing, shooting, stabbing, selling drugs, Molesting etc and we wonder why they are ridiculing our darling country's name.... Hhhhmmmm it is not the kids fault it is the fault of the parents that weren't ready to prioritise their priorities. I can't blame my mother and neither can I blame my father because they don't like to get involved in the way our brothers and sisters were bringing us up. They believed when you give a goat to someone, you let go of the rope, least do they knew that their darling daughter had become something else..... You may be boosting that your child lives in London, America etc but do you ever ask yourself how life is treating them where they arehuh

So many parents in Nigeria believe the field is greener on the other side forgetting that NO ONE CAN TRAIN YOUR KIDS THE WAY YOU CAN EXCEPT LOVING & GOD FEARING PEOPLE. In UK so many Nigerian parents have misplaced their priorities, they rather work 24/7, make all monies to build mansions in Nigeria at the expense of their children's lives. So many Nigerian parents in UK don't even attend parents's evening at their kids school, some can't even help their kids with homework. Some belief their kids are at home and they are safe not knowing who is there with them. Some would rather spoil their kids with money & expensive outfits instead of investing quality time in them.

Sending your kids abroad to be looked after by someone else is a pure waste of time and bringing your own kids from 9ja without giving them all the time needed is an irresponsible move and to be working all God sent hours, making sterling, dollars, euro, naira etc without spending quality time with your kids is a disgrace to parenthood. This is one of our bad irresponsible cultures, most children in Nigeria were brought up by housemaids/gateman/next door/grandmother/ neighbour etc. Nigerians don't believe in family planning rather they will have so many children and start using them to hawk sweets, bread etc after school...

Having a child is not by force, God did not say YOU MUST HAVE CHILDREN, YES HE STATED 'MULTIPLY' but he didn't mean we should do it to suffer them. Having children does not mean you will live your life joyfully and it doesn't give you a place in heaven either, instead your children may make you to miss heaven if care is not taken.
I am a product of a neglected, nonchalant, cultural upbringing and I WILL NEVER WISH IT ON MY GREATEST ENEMY BECAUSE I HAD IT ROUGH AND IN SADNESS. Let us stop being selfish for ones and stop pushing our problems/burdens on others. Your child should be with you no matter how poor or rich you are and you must teach them in the ways of God, NOT YOUR OWN STANDARDS....
Some parents in Nigeria don't mind if their children are sleeping with big men for money, it is saddddddd

97-year-old Woman Marries 86-year-old Man, Keeps Her Name

Love is in the air! The bride, Ada Laurie Bryant is 97 while the lucky groom, Robert Mitchell Haire is 86. Well, just 11 years difference. A minister and a son of the bride officiated the wedding at the home of the groom, (a chemical engineer who finished from Vanderbilt University) in Delaware, USA. The bride is keeping her name. She was a widow while the groom was a widower. Both met in 2007 when Mr. Haire and his first wife moved into a retirement community in Delaware. Mrs. Bryant had been there since 200, and her first husband died there. In a short while, the two ladies became close friends until she died in 2011 of Lou Gehrig's disease. In August 2011, Mr. Haire asked Mrs. Bryant, an artist to paint a mural of his late wife. She did and he was 'blown away' by the art work. Then he asked her to help select the perfect frame at a local shop (onibara nba ole bo....lol). Then then had lunch in the tearoom only for both to discover they had a lot to say about each other. Ogalagaju!
Then they started to go for regular lunch dates and became quite close with those in the community seeing them as a 'couple'. In January 2012, he slipped a song vowing 'friendship and affection' under her apartment door, and he said it represented how he felt about their relationship as a couple. He was afraid to give it to her personally (Bobo yii o ti e le!). Hear him:

“I was desperately trying to strike a balance between too timid or bold. I didn’t want to mess things up,” he said about the courtship. “I can attest that it doesn’t get easier even in advanced age.”
Well, the next morning, his worries disappeared. A note was on his apartment door. It was from Mrs. Bryant. She was very happy with the sonnet and said “she would heartily enter into that relationship.”
One of her daughters, Jane recalled talking to her mum on phone at that time:

“Her voice was kind of glowing. She loved having someone to talk to again. Since my father died, she just didn’t have someone to talk to in the deepest sense.”
Then came Valentine’s Day, and Mr. Haire presented her with a sapphire which would be used later as an engagement ring. She turned down the proposal at first but after a few days, she accepted it, but as a friendship ring. Kai! Women sha!

“I said, ‘I’d very much like you to accept it in whatever way you’d like,” Mr. Haire said.

The feelings went deeper and in March, he wrote her another poem and by April 2012, they confessed love for each other. The issue of marriage came up from time to time but he didn't never pushed it.

“I told her repeatedly that whatever care she needed, I’d already committed to,” Mr. Haire said. “She could rely on me no matter whether we married or not.”

Well, she finally agreed to his proposal in August 2012 and they would move later to her apartment after the wedding (close your eyes joor! No be Naija!)

On why she turned him down at first, she says: “There’s a great difference in our ages, as you can see,” she said. “I didn’t think it was the thing to do because I don’t have that many years ahead of me, but he said, ‘That’s all the more reason.’ I like him very much. I love him. So we’re going to be married.”

Woman With The Longest Hair(pictures)

Dai Yue Qin, better
known as Miss Dyq, is the Queen of long hair in China. Born in April 1964 in Tong Xiang (Zhejiang province, South China), she began to grow long hair at about 14. Everybody admired her two long and thick black shiny braids so she decided to cut it off never. After graduation she worked in
a carpet factory in Suzhou for 10 years, then returned to her hometown and worked at a big hotel. As her hair-length of 3,30 meters raised more and more attraction she joined several long hair competitions and has won prizes till now. In 2001 she moved to the U.S. where her friend lives. In 2005 she visited her family and friends in China and again attended some contests and long hair shows. It takes her about 1 to 2 hours to comb her tresses which are 420 cm in length now (almost 14 feet!). The washing of that shiny flood of hair needs 5 to 6 hours every two weeks. Imo Police Arrest 2 kidnap Suspects, Rescue Woman

Eagle-eyed operatives of Imo State Police Command last Wednesday arrested two suspected kidnappers and freed a woman they abducted from Igwuruta, Rivers State.

Confirming this to Vanguard, yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Vitalis Onugu, a deputy superintendent of police, said that “in the early hours of last Wednesday, four armed men stormed the home of Mrs. Linus Okechi situated along Farm Road, Igwuruta, Rivers State, when she was about taking her children to school”.

According to the PPRO, the armed hoodlums quickly ordered her into her Honda CRV RAV4 vehicle and took her away.

“They drove from Igwuruta to Imo and on getting to Ihiagwa, Owerri West local government area, policemen on stop and search flagged them down but they refused to stop. Sensing that something was amiss, the policemen pursued them,” the PPRO recounted.

Onugu recalled that the hoodlums ran into a traffic gridlock and on realizing that the police was closing in on them, jumped out of the vehicle and ran into a nearby bush.

“The police still defied odds and ran after the fleeing gangsters. Their effort paid off as two of the four fleeing kidnappers were arrested,” Onugu said.

He gave the names of the arrested suspects as Josiah Michael, a motor mechanic, and native of Etche, Rivers State, and Ifeanyi Ezeala from Umuowa, Orlu, Imo State.

“The woman was rescued alive and unhurt, while the two suspects have been transferred to Rivers State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution,” the PPRO said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Baba Adisa Bolanta, has appealed to youths to resist every temptation that would lure them into crime.

Bolanta, who spoke in a telephone interview, also warned that the police would not take kindly to anybody or group of persons that proferred to take to crime instead of being useful to themselves and society.

NAFDAC introduces toll-free number for feedback on drug use

National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control  said in Abuja on Thursday that it had established toll-free platform for feedback on adverse drug reactions.
Coordinator, National Pharmacovigilance Centre of NAFDAC, Mrs. Adeline Osakwe, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
She urged MTN, Etisalat and Glo subscribers to text messages to 20543.
Osakwe advised the public to regard such reports as important, stressing that the information would facilitate the agency’s work in safeguarding the health of Nigerians.
She said, “If we get 1,000 reports and only one is genuine, we won’t mind.
“We want people to report as much as possible so that we will begin to document what is happening to Nigerians when they use certain medicines.
“For instance, if you take a drug for stomach ache and you react to it, you could just text `I took this medicine and my stomach is on fire.
“When the information gets to us, we will call and interview you to get additional information that will enable us to determine whether it is actually an adverse drug reaction.
“If it is serious, we can refer the person to a hospital because we do not do clinical management of problem, we do documentation.
“This information will help us to assist the person and the general public because with the information we get, we get to know the people that should not take certain medicines.”

20 Die As Plateau sects Clash Again

About 20 people are feared to have been killed and several others injured on Wednesday in separate sectarian crises in two local government areas in Plateau State.

While 18 people died at Wadatan Garga in Wase LGA and two at Du in Jos South LGA in similar circumstances, about 20 houses were razed at Dompar and Kurmin Dashe communities in the area.

The fights reportedly began in Wase council area, when the corpse of a man said to be Taroh by tribe, believed to have been killed by the Fulani, was found.

A reprisal attack on some Fulani men, came on the heels of this as the men were returning from a market at Wadatan Garga, leaving nine of them dead.

Also one person was left dead and another wounded after an attack on the residence of a Fulani man in Du District of Jos South Local Government Area. This provoked a reprisal as some natives returning from a nearby village were ambushed and one of them was killed while others were injured.

The killings were confirmed by the Chairman of Transition Committee of Wase Local Government Area, Alhaji Zakari Mohammed, who said soldiers have been drafted to the area to restore peace and prevent an escalation of the problem.

Olubolade said the meeting with the IGP centred on how to fix the decay in police colleges and how to tackle the rising wave of terrorism, kidnapping and other criminal activities in the land.

The minister said: “We looked at the training of policemen and the training institutions not only on police colleges because solving the problem of police colleges alone is not enough.

“We will solve the problem of police colleges and that of other training institutions including the Police Academy in Kano as well as the Staff College in Jos.

“Once we address those issues, we will be making better progress. So, if you ask me, this meeting was aimed at repositioning the police to attend to training matters. To attend to operational matters so that this year, we will see a better policing in Nigeria police.”

“Nigerians should expect a highly professional police force that will stand up and face the challenges that are confronting our nation. And to do that, I have to constantly meet with the management team headed by the IGP who is here with me as many times as possible.

“This is to ensure that we are on course with our plan, to ensure that whatever we asked for to make the police force more efficient, is given to us. It is also to ensure that we are making progress in fighting crime, criminality and terrorism.

“Like I said, I am here to follow up on what I have just spoken about; to interact with the IGP and his management team, to look at lapses that may exist and how we will surmount them because it is a joint effort and I think it is critical to do that.

“The IGP is making some progress in certain areas and I will also have to look at them”.

Nokia's Symbian Is Officially Dead...!!!

We all knew this was eventually coming, but it's now official. Symbian on Nokia is dead.

Nokia managed to send off the once might platform in style. The 808 PureView will go down in
history as the last Symbian device by the Finnish manufacturer.

Nokia announced the news alongside its great Q4 results today, which showed $585 million profit and $10.83 billion in revenue.

Symbian OS on Nokia devices has played a key part in the smartphone game over the past ten years, but its significance was
severely reduced once the touchscreen revolution started. Some of the most notable phones to come out of Nokia were powered by Symbian - beginning with the 9210 Communicator. The Nokia E61 started a messenger phone hype that peaked with the E71, making Symbian OS the only viable competitor to the then strong BlackBerry portfolio of messengers.

Then came the cameraphone era, which gave birth to devices like the Nokia N95 , which was widely regarded as the king of the smartphone hill in its day. The Nokia N8 came at a time when Symbian was rapidly sliding into irrelevancy but still made a huge splash among camera-lovers with its large sensor and superb image quality. Heck we loved snapping photos with it and it's still the most popular smartphone in our database with over 25 million hits.

Nokia began a shift towards Windows Phone in the beginning of 2011 and starting now Redmond's mobile OS is Nokia's only smartphone platform.

N20k & N200K Deposit Limit For Account Holders

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) yesterday set new deposit limits for all categories of account holders and introduced three-tier Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements for banks.

The policy pegs a maximum single deposit amount of N20,000 and maximum cumulative balance of N200,000 at any point in time on the Low Value Account. It also places a maximum single deposit of N50,000 and a maximum cumulative balance of N400,000 on the Medium Value Account. However for the High Value Account, no limit is placed on cumulative balance.

The policy also categorised bank customers into Low Value Accounts (Level One); Medium Value Accounts (Level two) and High Value Accounts (Level three).

A circular to all banks and other financial institutions (OFIs) signed by CBN Director, Financial Policy and Regulation, Chris Chukwu, explained that the policy became exigent after the CBN recognised that access to basic banking facilities and other financial services is necessary in achieving the policy on financial inclusion. He advised banks to adopt the new KYC requirement adding that the proposed deposit limits is meant to reduce the risk of money laundering and financing of terrorism.

He said the Low Value Accounts are subject to close monitoring by the financial institutions and less scrutiny by bank examiners.

The CBN director said the accounts could be opened at branches of banks by a prospective customer or through banking agents and no amount is required for its opening. However, such accounts prohibit international funds transfer.

According to him, the Medium Value Accounts can be opened face to face at any branch of a bank by agents for enterprises or by the account holder but, the accounts are strictly savings with no amount required for its opening. Also, where cross-checking of client’s identity cards information is not completed at the point of account opening, withdrawal would be denied.

Chukwu added that for the High-Value Accounts, banks are required to obtain, verify and maintain copies of all the required documents for accounts opening. Account is to be opened at the bank branches by physical presence of the prospective customer and the accounts could be both savings and current.

However, for mobile banking products, the account attracts a maximum transaction limit of N100, 000 and daily limit of N1 million however, such products are subject to the CBN Regulatory Framework for Mobile Payments Services in Nigeria.

He said that banks are required to have robust, effective and efficient anti-money laundering /combating the financial terrorism (AML/CFT) solutions with screening tools in place that will monitor the various thresholds. “All accounts, no matter how low the transaction or the risks, must be subjected to continuous suspicious transactions monitoring by financial institutions which will determine when incremental KYC requirements need to be provided by the customers,” he said.

He said the CBN will ensure the establishment of appropriate processes and procedures for the purpose of monitoring compliance with the regulatory framework. He added that non-compliant financial institutions would be sanctioned in line with the provisions of extant laws and regulations. He said 64.1 per cent representing 56.3 million adult Nigerians do not have access to financial services, hence the policy is also meant to bridge the gap.

Mostly affeceted were one of the oldest schools in the town, the Imade College, the General Hospital, Owo Stadium, Methodist High School, St Catherine Anglican Girls Grammar School and Methodist Church.

Electric poles were deamaged leading to black out in the town.

Commercial activities were affected on major streets like Oke-Ogun, Iloro, Ehin-Ogbe, Uka as the roofs of many shops were blown off by the rainstorm.

Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Niran Sule-Akinsuyi, lamented the extent of damage caused by the storm.

He said, “Relevant authorities and agencies of government must quickly come to the aid of the affected people as many of them have been rendered homeless.”

The lawmaker representing Owo Constituency 1 in the state House of Assembly, Mr. Ayo Arowele, noted that many of the people no longer had shelters.

He appealed to the Federal Government, the National Emergency Management Authority, the state government and other concerned bodies to assist the people in their effort to rebuild the destroyed houses and shops.

In a related development, residents of Obasanjo Estate, in Ikere Ekiti are still counting their losses following a rain which destroyed their buildings.

Our correspondent gathered that the rain which started around 5pm on Monday blew off roofs of some of the buildings in the estate.

Also, electric poles and some trees were also uprooted by the rainstorm.

The damage caused by the rainstorm is not limited to the estate as stalls and some buildings in the Shasha Market opposite the estate were destroyed.

The chairman of the Landlords and Residents Association of the estate, Mr. Jide Ogunluyi, said the destruction of electric poles had thrown the estate into darkness.

He said, “We are counting our losses. Parts of the roof of my building were damaged. Some of the electric poles were pulled down. We have been thrown into darkness since this happened.

“We have complained to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria and we are expecting them to come to our rescue.”

The estate had, about four years ago, suffered a similar damage by rainstorm which  damaged most of the buildings in the estate.

After this, the residents planted trees in front of their buildings to serve as windbreakers

Man Strangles 7-year-old Boy To Death In Lagos

It was a typical case of man's inhumanity to man when one Onyeka Patrick strangled Ayuba, the seven-year-old son of his neighbour to death in Ikotun, a suburb of Lagos city.

Not done, he made the boy’s parents to believe that their son was still alive by demanding N5 million from them as ransom for his kidnappers.

The deceased was said to have playfully strolled into Patrick's compound on January 12, when he was abducted and strangled within minutes. From the suspect's account to THISDAY, it was gathered that the boy, as usual, had answered Patrick’s call as he was a familiar face in the neighbourhood.

For someone the innocent boy called uncle, not even an adult mind would imagine that harm could come from a friendly neighbour. Patrick, with a straight face, narrated how helpless the lad was when he was being strangled, recounting how Ayuba looked into his eyes with a dire quest for his life to be spared.

Having killed him, he was faced with the next task of disposing of the corpse. He put the corpse in a sack and went to an uncompleted building next door where he dumped it in an empty soak-away pit.

For days, the parents of the boy were in anguish, frantically searching for little Ayuba. Patrick joined in the search and sometimes, he even wept to show how deeply touched he was by the ‘disappearance’ of the boy. When asked by his neighbours why he wept that much, he had explained that the boy was so dear to his heart and he could not understand who would have kidnapped such a lovely boy.

The parents then got a hand-written note asking for a N5 million ransom to get the boy released. Accompanying the ransom note was the suspect's phone number through which he demanded that the ‘kidnappers’ should be contacted. Even when that sum was way out of what they could ever raise, it brightened their hope that their son could be alive. It was a false hope.

The bubble burst when Patrick’s elder brother saw the “kidnapper’s” note and recognised the handwriting to be that of his younger brother. Secretly, the elder brother quizzed him about the author of the handwritten note. But he insisted that he was not the one. He discarded the SIM containing the number he dropped in the note. Not convinced and suspicious of Patrick’s moves, the elder brother reported the matter to the police at the Ikotun Police Station. Promptly, Patrick was arrested, and after initial denials, he confessed to the crime. He eventually led the police to where he dumped Ayuba’s body, which had been ravaged by rodents and insects.

Tuesday, Patrick was paraded before journalists at the state Police Command in Ikeja. He could not explain the motivation for his actions, preferring to, as usual, blame the devil and greed for his dastardly act.

According to him, “I didn't plan to kill him. The thought came into me all of a sudden when he strolled into my compound. I was just sitting down when he came. As the thought came into me, I didn't pause to think but jumped at him. I took him to the backyard where I used my hands to strangle him to death.

“When I was strangling him, he did not shout or put up a resistance because he thought I was playing with him. By the time he started feeling in pain, he couldn't shout again because I had closed his wind pipes but his eyes spoke to me.”

He added: “It was the devil. I used to be a glass fabricator and a footballer. I don't know what got into me that fateful day. I also don't know what made me demand a ransom. But I had intended to use the money to start life all over again. I was arrested because my brother recognised my handwriting and called in the police.”

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the suspect confessed to his crime only when he was transferred to the State Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), Ikeja.

Braide added that upon confession, the suspect led SARS operatives to recover the decomposed body of the victim from the pit. The body has since been deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy. Braide said the suspect would soon be charged to court for murder since all aspects of the investigation had been covered.

1000 Nigerians In Egyptian Prisons

Over 1000 Nigerian footballers and students who left Nigeria in search of greener pastures in Europe and the Middle East are now languishing in Egyptian prisons, the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora heard in Abuja yesterday.
A 53-year-old Nigerian, who spent 21 years in a Cairo prison, Mr. Ganiyu Shola, told the Rep. Abike Dabiri-Erewa-led committee yesterday when he appeared before the committee.
He narrated the gloomy picture of how young Nigerians were being lured into leaving home by human traffickers only to be abandoned in Egypt.
Shola blamed officials of the Nigerian Embassy in Cairo for not leaving up to expectations and for failing to approach the Egyptian authorities to secure their release.
He said currently, there are four Nigerians who have spent between 21 to 23 years in the Cairo prison and were convicted without legal representation.
“Human traffickers lured them to go to Israel from Egypt and hundreds of them between the ages of 16-20 have died while crossing the border to Israel. They are adventurers footballers, students and commercial sex workers,”
He called on the Federal Government to secure their release because they usually get stranded and the Egyptian police would arrest them and throw them into the prisons.
Rep. Dabiri-Erewa promised to intervene in the matter

"It’s a very sensitive case because you’re dealing with somebody who is deceased, who’s a loved one of somebody, who really couldn’t even fight back, so it’s our job to fight back for them," Neiman told CBS Los Angeles.

Committing necrophilia wasn't a crime in California until 2004. But it is now, and Razo faces up to three years in prison if convicted. He reportedly posted $20,000 bail, NBC Los Angeles reports.

Sherman Oaks Hospital declined to comment on the incident, and LAPD officials wouldn't release more details.

Nigerian Student Sentenced To Death For Drug Trafficking- My Two Cents (rant)

ALOR STAR, Jan 22 — A Nigerian man was sentenced to death by hanging by the High Court here today after he was found guilty of trafficking in 16,936gm of cannabis two years ago.

Judicial Commissioner Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab handed down the sentence on John Amaechi Eze, 23, after finding that the prosecution had established the case beyond reasonable doubt. Eze, a student at a private college in Kuala Lumpur, was charged with committing the offence in front of Dewan Lye Huat Garden, Jitra, about 9.30pm on May 10, 2011. Eze, who looked calm when the Mohd Zaki handed down the sentence, then requested permission to contact his family in Nigeria and informed the court that he had not contacted them since he was arrested. Mohd Zaki said the matter would be arranged by his lawyer, Ali Munawar Razak, and deputy public prosecutor Wan Nor Hasnita Wan Daud, who prosecuted in the case. - Bernama

Now, for anyone harbouring thoughts of trafficking drugs to this country, this is what you get. It beats me why someone would risk their life, by taking banned substance to this racist poo hole called Malaysia, because when issued a visa, it is clearly stated that the punishment for drug trafficking in Malaysia is death.

To be fair and honest to Malaysia, there are some very nice and wonderful people out there but they are greatly outnumbered by the bigots among them. I live and study in Malaysia and I've observed a bias pattern in judicial procedures and policing as regards drug trafficking and crime prevention.

My assertions are based on my day to day experience and observation as a resident, i have no statistical analysis of the Nigerian population living in Malaysia neither do i have the exact figures or nationality of the number of cases prosecuted by the Malaysian judiciary.

From the Nigerian side, The easterners (Igbos) out-number other ethnic groups within the Nigerian community here. That's why most Nigerians you meet are from the east. A lot Nigerians you meet are not in Malaysia to study, though they are enrolled in one college or another, they are semi-illiterates or outright illiterates, very lousy, brash and arrogant (for reasons i don't understand). Then we have the stranded group who were duped by travel agents into thinking the pasture in Malaysia is greener.

In short, You meet criminals of all shapes, size and age. They just sleep, eat and wake up, and hope for the next Maga to pay. They are so much, you'll think all Nigerians living in Malaysia are criminals, but we have bright students doing well and graduating in Malaysian universities , we have gainfully employed graduates trained by Malaysians themselves (few) and business men and women doing legitimate business exporting goods to and from Nigeria (also few compared to the population of the Nigerian community). But the Yahoo boys and drug traffickers are so high in number it seems they've all relocated from Nigeria to Malaysia. Conditions here favour them.

Basic infrastructure is great here compared to what we have in Nigeria. 24 hours electricity, Running water, Well laid roads, affordable high speed internet, Compact 3/4 bedroom apartment, affordable furniture, Little or no scrutiny on international remittance etc. Malaysia is a yahoo boy's Paradise. Though most foreigners, especially new comers call them (Malaysians) lazy and silly (i still don't get the rationale behind that).

On the Malaysian side, You'll meet the Malay supremacist. A Muslim, religious bigot, loud, aggressive and assertive. He (Male and Female) hates Jews and despises Christians. He wants to protect the "sanctity" of Islam, State resources are at his disposal. His opinion and interest supersedes that of others. His ancestors are the first settlers in Peninsular Malaysia. His interpretation of the Islamic text dictates and guides the Muslim community and some times the Whole nation. His favourite question when he meets you for the first time in class or anywhere is "Are you Muslim?". He runs the country and he knows it.

Then we have the Chinese Chauvinist, A business tycoon/ hard working student. Drives flashy cars, He believes his race is the best. He is rich and he has read stories of Nigerians using Malaysian girls as drug mules. He has meet or read of stranded Nigerians who loiter around Kuala-Lumpur begging for money (These stranded guys don't shower, so they stink). He cringes when you happen to be in the same elevator, crosses to the other side of the road when you are walking towards each other and always thinks you need something from him any time you try to talk to him. He has held on to so many Nigerian horrible stories and thinks every Nigerian is like that.
Then, we have the Angry Indian, Always pissed and Mean-mugging you. He has been discriminated against so much that even his language is not included in the country's ATM machine (LMAO). He is always trying to pick fights with you and the first comment he makes is "THIS IS MY COUNTRY!". He'll smash his crash helmet on you at the slightest provocation or stab you. He also reads of atrocities committed by Nigerians and sees you as a threat.

So, living in Malaysia has made me a racism connoisseur of sought. In fact, I have become so sensitive that I believe I can tell if an individual is racist within a few seconds of being around them. There are people in Malaysia whose sole purpose in life is just to ruin your day. Racism in Malaysia is perfect. It is subtle when it needs to be and brass when necessary. As a foreigner you might be misled into thinking Malaysia is a boring place and no one gives a damn about you, so you can do what ever you like and get away with it. No, you are seriously mistaking. Malaysia sometimes feels like the North-Korea we watch on T.V. Some citizens are very nosy and they watch and observe every move you make. I read a news article some weeks ago that says about 80% of Police personnel don't do normal Policing but rather, they spy and gather intelligence.

So, my point is this. Malaysia is a tightly controlled society where the authorities decide what business prospers, whether legal or illegal. Elements within the police control the drug trade, the distributors are under their command and they arrest them when it's politically needed to unite the country against a common enemy. We hear of stories of Iranian and Arab drug traffickers who are quietly deported and warned never to return to Malaysia but other Nationalities are shown off as trophy in front of news men who broadcast and publish sensational news headline.

South-east Asian countries are united against drug trafficking and they hold meetings regularly to discuss new strategies on deterrent, Death (rolls eyes). So, it baffles me why people still take the risk. John Amaechi Eze was sentenced on January 22, a British Grand mother Lindsay Sandiford was also sentenced to death on the same day in Indonesia. In the year 2008, Two Nigerians were executed in Indonesia and 1 in Singapore.

Nigerians, Please stop trying to Bring drugs into Malaysia. They will Fu=ck you up!
