They alleged that suspected militants sponsored by an Ondo State agency, monarch and individuals in Ilaje council, invaded Molume and destroyed a building project and materials for three housing units being constructed by Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC.

Similarly, chairman of Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, J. Ayomike, in a letter to the Attorney General of Delta State, said: “Ondo State authorities have crossed into Warri North, particularly Molume, to arrest workers at a building site.”
Ayomike reminded the Attorney-General of the festering boundary dispute between Ondo and Delta states, which had been settled by a Federal High Court in Benin City, though Ondo State, had appealed the judgment.

WONDERS;A new type of snake discovered in Brazil…(must see for ladies)

According to The Sun, biologists came across the Atretochoana eiselti, which they’ve dubbed the ‘floppy snake’ while examining a hydroelectric dam on a river in the Amazon. The creature is eyeless and from a family of ‘blind snake’ closely related to the salamander. Six of the snakes were found living at the bottom of the Madeira River in the northern state of Rondonia in Brazil……and it looks like something a lot of you ladies will like. Looks so familiar…*evil grin*. Check it out after the cut…:-)

Power Minister defends 2012 budget performance, says 52.9 % completed

The Minister of Power, Professor Barth Nnaji has accused the PHCN staff union of misinforming the staff as well as blackmailing the federal government and behaving like outlaws by mishandling their senior management staff over the privatisation of the company and their severance allowances.
Briefing State House correspondents after the presentation of the performance of the ministry on the 2012 Budget, Prof. Nnaji wondered why the union wants the government to exempt them from the nation’s pension laws so that they can illegally collect pensions.
The ministry’s performance this year is put at 52.9 percent out of the 21.5 billion received.
The budget presentation is in continuation of the president’s monitoring scheme to ensure transparency and effective implementation of the budget in all ministries.
The National Assembly approved N78.4 billion in 2012. N75.46 billion was budgeted for capital projects, out of which N21.5 billion has been released. The amount utilised is N11.4 billion, representing 52.9 percent.
The minister enumerated some of the projects targeted by the ministry to include the 17 Small and Medium Power Projects, the transmission companies, how to ensure stability and reduce system failures, expansion of the distribution networks, resuscitation of the rural electrification agency.
He also projected into 2013 plan and the need to complete over 156 projects that are ongoing.
He also made mention of the transition into private sector participation and the need to develop alternative sources of power.
Earlier, the special adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, restated the purpose of the briefing which is to ensure transparency and accountability.
The presidency’s official insisted that proper standards are set   in the administration and that priorities in terms of service delivery are also met.

FG, Delta State Battle Over Ibori $15m Cash Ownership

The stage appears set for a fierce legal battle between the Federal and Delta state governments over the $15 million bribe allegedly recovered from the former governor of Delta state Mr.  James Ibori.
Delta state government has formally come out to lay claim to ownership of the money and is seeking for a Federal High Court order to release the said money to its treasury.
The money was said to have been offered as bribe by Ibori in 2007 to the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu to compromise the probe of a fraud allegation against Ibori.
However, following the denial by Ibori that he did not offer the bribe, the money had since 2007 been kept in the custody of the Central Bank of Nigeria for safe keep.
In an application filed by the Delta state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Charles Ajuyah, at the Federal High Court in Abuja, claimed that the money legitimately belonged to the Delta state government and that the court should order its return to its treasury since the money in dispute was allegedly offered by Ibori while he was in office as governor of the state.
In a 35-point affidavit in support of the application, Delta state asserted that Ibori was a governor of the state between May 29, 1999 and May 29, 2007, the period the money in dispute was allegedly offered by Ibori and on that basis, the state said that the $15 million is the exclusive property of the state and  it is entitled to collect it as the bona fide owner.
The affidavit averred that any denial by Ibori in respect of the money cannot affect entitlement of the state to the amount.
The affidavit also indicated that the state did not formally apply for payment of the money in view of the pending appeals to the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal because it did not want to prejudice the appeal cases.
It further claimed that all monies, assets and properties recovered from Mr. Joshua Dariye, former governor of Plateau state were returned to Plateau state just like those recovered from Diepreye Alamieyesigha of Bayelsa were returned to Bayelsa state.
With this precedence, there should be no legal basis to treat the case of Delta state any different from others and that it is in the interest of justice that the money should be released to Delta.
The Delta state government says the money, if released to the state, will enhance the developmental projects in the state.
The application would be argued before Justice Gabriel Kolawole on September 17, when the federal government’s motion on the same issue would come up for further hearing on who should be the rightful owner of the controversial money.
The Federal Government had on July 24, at a Federal High Court in Abuja obtained an interim order that the money be forfeited to it pending the time anyone who may lay bona fide claim shows cause of legitimate ownership at the court.

Northern Muslim Elders Reply Asari Dokubo: Go And Read Your History

Prominent Northern Muslims elders, represented by Alhaji Usman Faruk, a former military governor of North-West State during the General Yakubu Gowon regime, have dismissed the threats of the leader of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force (NDVF), Mujahideen Dokubo Asari, telling him to go and brush up on his History of Nigeria.
The response came yesterday at the Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna wher Faruk, a frequent face at the Sheik Ahmad Gumi’s Ramadan sermon, was asked to speak, from the elders’ perspective, on Asari’s threat to Northern Nigeria.
A source at the event related to SaharaReporters that Alhaji Faruk first commented that the elders had waited to hear whether President Goodluck Jonathan would say something about Asari’s threats to cut off the North and his bragging about the armoury under the NDVF, but that no such response had come.
Of the elders, he then noted that they were the ones that fought the civil war.  “We conquered them including their Bayelsa and gained victory, the answer I will give him is he is not the first to fly the kite.”
Faruk said that before the start of the civil war in 1967, his government set Chief Obafemi Awolowo free from prison although it was another government that had put him there.
“Eventually when the war was to start with Biafra, [Awolowo] went to Ibadan and gathered all Yorubas that they should know the war about to commence was between the North and the East, and the Yoruba in the West were not part of it,” he said.
“We received this with shock and the whole Northerners met in Kaduna and we issued them a warning that we heard they (Yoruba) were not part of it and we agreed but we have one demand,” he said.
That condition, according to him was the establishment of a One Mile Corridor.  “From Offa which is in our region, from the rail line to the sea (wharf) we declare One Mile Military Corridor, meaning all of them who built houses within One Mile, we will crush down their houses. And nobody will stop our vehicles and vessels from accessing the sea, this we told our Yorubas in Ilorin to tell them. And from that time we never hear them. This is Military Corridor, we of the past hope our children will carry it,” warning that nobody could stop the people of the North, whom he said number 120 million, from accessing the sea.
“If he doesn’t know let Dokubo go and read history,” Faruk said.  “Awolowo attempted he failed talk less of one boy.”
He also disputed the Nigeria’s population according to religion, blaming Obasanjo for refusing identification by religious faith in the 2006 census in order to avoid proving that Muslims are populated than the rest. “Today, our population is as Muslims is 120 million and the rest are 50 million,” he said.  “Because of this, if census will be conducted again they must be column for religion.”
The source said Faruk also blamed politicians, including Northerners he claimed to have been bribed, for the onshore/offshore economic imbalance.
“This comprehension is above our people here it means, crude oil extracting in the sea and that in the non sea region,” he said.  “From Lagos to the high sea it about 200 mile and people like Ghali Umar Na’abba in their time were bribed and they conceded to the onshore/offshore deceit. This case was taken to Supreme Court and the court ruled against it, despite that our lawmakers did not do anything. Today, what Bayelsa State is collecting with just about 3 million people triple what Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa and Katsina States 10 times.”
He said that legislators of Northern extraction in the federal legislature must challenge and change this situation in view of the fact that the Supreme Court has ruled against it.   If they cannot do it, he warned, they should all come back home.

HERBALISTS RUSH FOR USED CONDOMS IN ABUJA NEW BUSINESS FOR PROSTITUTES

Used Condoms in the past is something that none pays attention to, but shockingly it has now become one thing no one wants to drop carelessly especially patrons of “runs” babes in the Federal Capital Territory because of the huge financial prices.

Information has it that herbalists now buy it from most call girls and runs babes in the Federal Capital Territory and other State across.

Already most patrons now pick their used condoms from prostitutes, and dispose it themselves so as not to get their sperm that is stocked in the condom in the hands of herbalists.

According to those who should know, many young girls who are now involved in the prostitution business are now willing to go out with men at any cost unlike in the past. They don’t haggle prices with customers because they make fast cash from the sale of the sperm of all customers that they sleep with.

According to some of the young prostitutes, some herbalists do come along from 4:30 am each morning to collect and pay cash for used condoms.

Last month and early this month, men of the Abuja Task Force arrested over 1400 prostitutes out of which over 80percent were caught with used condoms filled with sperm which shocked the Task Force personnel thereby giving credence to the booming trade involvement of the most call girls in the sordid act of selling sperm for money.

Already the business is now a booming one as the girls are in haste to sleep with anyone so far they can be handy with the condoms from such entanglement, thereby earning some thousands of naira in cash as proceeds from their sperm sales.

While none of the young girls arrested and spoken to can give any accurate or clear cut reasons why and what the buyers are using the sperm for, some herbal practitioners confirm it is a ready-made tool for some herbal charm.

The Federal Government has disclosed that UAC Nigeria Plc, makers of popular snack – Gala Sausage Roll, are in compliance with its policy on cassava flour for bread based products.

According to a statement from the Presidency, Gala has a 20% cassava mix. This has resulted in considerable savings in foreign exchange for the company according to the statement.

It will be private sector driven and established in rice producing states,” it said

Tension in Onitsha over mosque demolition

Police in Anambra State have denied some Muslims residing at the Headbridge Mosque, Onitsha were attacked on Sunday by persons allegedly acting on the orders of the Anambra State Government.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Raphael Uzoigwe, told our correspondent that the mosque was among the structures earmarked for demolition, following the government’s decision to expand the Headbridge – Upper Iweka section of the Onitsha – Enugu Expressway.

He said government had for long ordered owners of structures in the area to relocate and that the demolition was to enforce the relocation order. He said nobody was attacked.

But the leadership of the Muslim community at Headbridge said at least 10 of their members were injured when hoodlums suspected to be members of the defunct task force on parks and markets otherwise known as Ndi Mpiawazu allegedly attacked Islamic worshipers at the mosque.

There was commotion at the Headbridge when hundreds of the Muslims poured into the street to protest the alleged attack.

Addressing reporters on the incident, the leader of the Hausa and Yoruba communities in the area, Alhaji Habib Faruk, alleged that the hoodlums numbering over 50, stormed the mosque at about 4am and attacked their members.

He said, “We got information this morning that a group of boys suspected to be Mpiawazu attacked some of our members who slept in the mosque and ordered them to leave, some of them to tried to put up resistance were attacked with axes and machetes while their mobile phones were collected from them.”

Faruk said a bulldozer was moved in a few hours after the attack to demolish the mosque.

He said, “The Governor (Peter Obi) had told us that he would provide us with alternative for us to build another mosque and transact our business. But till date, we have not seen the Governor or his representative because we see everything as ploy to sack us from Onitsha.”

Olympics: Congo Athlete And Coaches Missing After Games by

A Congolese judo competitor and three other members of the central African country’s Olympic delegation have gone missing in London since the weekend, local media reported on Monday, adding to a list of seven other African athletes who vanished during the Games.

DRC's Cedric Mandembo (L) fights with Russia"s Alexander Mikhaylin during their men"s +100kg elimination round of 32 judo match

Democratic Republic of Congo’s Cedric Mandembo, who lost his only judo match in 49 seconds to Russian Alexander Mikhaylin in the 100 kg category, disappeared shortly after Sunday’s closing ceremony and was not answering his mobile phone, U.N.-sponsored Radio Okapi reported, citing the Congolese Olympic Committee.

Congo judo coach Ibula Masengo, boxing trainer Blaise Bekwa, and national technical director of athletics Guy Nkita had also gone missing, according to the report, which said all four had left the Olympic village with their luggage.

No further details were immediately available in London and a government spokesman said the Home Office did not comment on individual cases.

Olympic officials are also looking for seven Cameroonian athletes who went missing during the Games. Cameroon officials asked for help tracking down five boxers, a swimmer and a soccer player, and said they were probably seeking to stay in Europe for economic reasons.

The London Olympic organising committee said it had notified British police about the missing Cameroonians, but added that the athletes would not be infringing immigration laws until their visas expired in November.

Home » News & Reports » News News and Reports How Girl, 20, Used Sex to Lure Former Delta Council Secretary Into Hands of Kidnappers

Startling revelations have emerged about the kidnapping of the former Secretary to the Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, Mr. Sunny Elueni, in April 2012.
Our correspondent reliably gathered that the People’s Democratic Party chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming council elections was kidnapped during a sexual encounter with the 20 year-old nurse and his lover, Philomena Ogbovoh, inside his car.
Philomena, who is currently being held by the State Security Services (SSS), Delta State command, over the kidnapping, is reported to have narrated how she used sex to lure Mr. Elueni into the hands of his abductors.

According to a source, Sunny, who is the elder brother to the former legal adviser to the state PDP, was grabbed on April 13 at a bush path along Oleh Road, Ozoro in Isoko North Local Government Area and his abductors demanded a ransom of N800, 000 to secure his freedom after four days in captivity.

Narrating how the whole deal was struck, the nurse who was paraded by officials of the SSS, told newsmen that she arranged the abduction with her boyfriend, Daniel Ubah, who was also paraded along with another suspect, Kingsley Otuya.  The kingpin of the gang, identified only as “Jersey,” who is still at large.

According to Miss Ogbovoh, on the day of the incident, she had arranged with Daniel and others to meet her and the victim at the bush path after they left the hotel, where she claimed she refused to succumb to the sex demand by the victim.
“He touched me; he didn’t sex me and said we should go so that his wife will not start suspecting him. While we were going on the way, he kept on telling me that look at the way I have done him now, that am I not a nurse, that I know the way everybody used to do when urged for sex. He asked me to touch him on the way and I said how will I be doing that when he was driving. He decided to park at Oleh road at the clinic side. I told him to go a bit further and stop and he did. Before now, Daniel had asked me the place we used to stay and I told him.”

Continuing, Miss Ogbovoh stated “After parking the car, he collapsed my chair and his own too. He brought out his penis and told me to masturbate him and he was touching me. While we were doing that there, Daniel and his friends came and drew him out of the car and blinded both of us so that he was not suspect that I was the one behind his misfortunes and we were both taken to place where they kept us for four days until the sum of N800, 000 was brought as ransom before he was released.”

She disclosed that she got N100,000 out of the N800,000 paid by her lover, confessing that actually her initial plan was to blackmail him before his boy friend Daniel and his gang convinced her about the lucrative business of kidnapping, which is currently in vogue.

Corroborating the suspect’s claim of her share of the money, Daniel stated that he was given N95, 000 from the proceeds but the said amount was however stolen by Jersey.
“She and Jersey brought the ransom and they said the man paid N800,000. They gave me N95,000 but Jersey took my money and ran away. They gave her (Philomena) N100,000. They gave Kingsley N85,000. I have not seen Jersey since he made away with my money,” he confessed.

Meanwhile, the state Director of SSS, Mrs Florence Ikanone, has said in a statement that pursuant to the efforts by the command in addressing the problem of kidnapping and threats to life and assassination in the state, the operatives of the command got the above mentioned suspects arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Mr. Elueni in April at Ozoro.
She stated that the arrested suspects will soon appear in court for trial.
All efforts to reach Mr. Elueni proved abortive as his line was switched off.  Some of his political associates however, who told our correspondent that he was far away in Lagos attending the annual Redeemed Church retreat, debunked Philomena's allegations
